Season 3 – The end of the Line

With the Hunts Havoc Semi-Finals out of the way, we are approaching the end of the Season. This season has already broken the record for the number of games played but there are still four more to come!

At the start of the Season there where 17 teams competing to lift one of the four HDWSBBL Championship Cups. Now we are down to the last few teams who have overcome all obstacles in their path to reach the finals. It could be argued that all of these teams are winners, having ensured they will take away at least a runner-up award but here in the HDWSBBL we view the Runners-up as the 1st placed Losers!

The newly re-christened HDWSBBL World Stadium is being dusted down to provide a venue for these finals. With a capacity of 120,000 there should be enough tickets for all so come along and bring your families for a fun day filled with violence, glory and seeing grown men cry like a newborn infant.

The final four games to be played are:

  • The Final of the Hunts Havoc 2508/09 (HDWSBBL League Cup) – Karond Kar Corsairs vs The Mc Cauligh Reavers – 16th April
  • The Final of the Ankle Biter (HDWSBBL Shield) – Beaumont Blitzers vs The Middenhein Manhunters – 23rd April
  • The Final of the ZombWay Cup 2508/09 (HDWSBBL Challenge Cup) – Ragnars Swift Velocity vs the Lustrian Snake Qweens. – 30th April
  • The Final of the Championship III (HDWSBBL Championship Cup) – Karond Kar Corsairs vs the Lustrian Snake Queens. – 7th May.

Please note that there will be no re-scheduling of these matches (normal caveats apply). I need all teams who where eliminated in the relevant Semi-Final to bring their teams with them on the above dates because if one of the finalists cannot make it then you will be playing in their place! This is to ensure that a Championship is not determined via a forfeit.

There is a club AGM on the 23rd of April so that match may get pushed back one week depending on how that goes.

We hope to provide extensive coverage of these finals via this website as they occur so keep returning to see all the news as it develops.

So… if say, something were to (god forbid) mysteriously happen to the Manhunters on the day of the final, I would be playing in the final?

    Hypothetically speaking of course.

  2. In theory, yes. Although considering the fact that the Manhunters have waited two seasons to take part in a final it would take a lot of effort to remove them from that spot.

The blitzers however would be another matter as all it would take is a promise of a good scap and they would travel over the entire Old World to be there (but that would mean the Wolf Pack would be playing and not yourself!).

All things considered I think that all the finals will be played with their respective teams. The only variant at the moment is when (stupid real life getting in the way).
